This is a letter I wrote to program director Garrett Michaels @ 94.9 FM in San Diego…
Hi Garrett,
It has come to my attention that 94/9 FM has decided to pick up Mike Esparza of the Mikey show. This concerns me on many levels. I have never cared enough about a radio station to even bother writing an email, as there are very few radio stations like 94/9, I have decided it is my duty to write a letter with my feelings on this matter. I’ll start by again stating my obvious love for 94/9, the “about the music” vibe, the educational value, the intelligent approach to all forms of good music, no matter what genre or platform its origins lie. I love that 94/9 doesn’t talk over songs, educates it’s listeners through intelligent discussions about the facts behind the music and the artists creating it, your approach to your sponsors’ and doing what you have to do to sell advertising and keeping said advertising from making any decisions about what you play… All in all, 94/9 has been the most balanced, alternative/progressive station I have even had the fortune to have in my community. With that being said, I caught your long speech the other night, regarding operating in the red in 2009 for the first time, not making a profit and having to make the hard decision to let Halloran go, the other guy who has been there from the start… I really respected the info, the way it was handled and the complete transparency that you as a person and as a station have always had. Even if I don’t agree with everything, I can always count on you guys to be straight up and on the level…
I cannot for the life of me understand why; as a radio station, a company, an individual would sacrifice the last several years of building a solid reputation as one of the best radio stations in the country, by bringing a show like the Mikey morning show onto your station. I have had the misfortune of listening to Mikey in the mornings on a few occasions and I am really struggling to see how he fits into your mission statement as I see it (http://www.fm949sd.com/TheMission.aspx).My personal thoughts on Mike Esparza are as follows…Holier than though, close-minded and misogynistic. How in the hell does this guy fit into the realm of such a progressive and intelligent station? I half expect the next step will be hearing bands like Nickelback, Creed and Stain’d creeping into the play-lists. I’m fearful that this is the beginning of the demise of a great station. What will happen to the Friday morning Blues set, or the guys from Stone Brewery? The reason I listen to 94/9 in the morning in the first place is because it is the ONLY station that plays great music, with limited interruptions. It’s some news, local events and then back to the music. It is a formula that works. No bullshit, no whistles, no games, sound effects or goofy morning personalities. I enjoy the momentary commentary about a certain artist or song before going into session after session of just great music.
Mikey angers me and I’m sure I am not the only one that feels this way. 94/9 will be my refuge for Big Sonic Chill and Bob Marley and friends on Sundays… I will not listen to 94/9 in the mornings starting Jan 25th. Thanks for your time in reading this rant.Concerned listener,Joshua Riddle
ATTENTION CALIFORNIA:
Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill is now up to 186 cosponsors! That means over 40% of the entire House of Representatives is currently signed onto HR 1207.
Unfortunately, San Diego Representative Susan A. Davis is still holding out.
We’ve come a long way, but now it’s time to push for an outright majority of the full House.
And that starts with turning up the pressure on Susan A. Davis.
Ron Paul needs you to keep writing, calling, and emailing to convince your Representative to support Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed Bill.
In fact, you should call right now.
Susan A. Davis’s Congressional Office number is (202) 225-2040. Tell her to join the 186 of her colleagues in cosponsoring Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed Bill.
http://www.house.gov/susandavis/contact.
I just called the Susan Davis’s office, told them I would like for her to support H.R. 1207 in support of auditing the Federal Reserve. It took literally one minute of my day. Please do this if you live in California. Please do this if you live in any state that your representative is not supporting this bill. This is important. Why would you not want the Federal Reserve to expose their spending? They are who prints, supplies and charges INTEREST on YOUR money. Make a phone call. 202.225.2040. All they will ask you is the zip code you are living in, for those of you afraid of ending up on a government watch list… Which, you already are if you have an identity BTW.
This is completely unacceptable. The Federal Reserve is a private company that WE as the United States are letting run our country with NO RECOURSE! WTF. This should infuriate anyone that gives a shit about our country.
Watch this video and then research the history of the Federal Reserve, which by the way is a private company for those of you that do not know.
If you watch the first 15 minutes of Aaron Russo’s ‘Freedom to Fascism’ you can get a sense of what exactly they are. Go to this site: www.ronpaul.com/on-the-issues/audit-the-federal-reserve-hr-1207
and support Ron Paul, one of the last true Patriots in politics. Sign a letter, use the sample letter and send it of to your representatives… This is serious. Aside from Ron Paul and a few others still in congress who believe in the sovereignty of the U.S. , this type of request for transparency will not likely be brought up many more times… We have been infiltrated on a level so far beyond Republican, Democrat… This is Global, this is elitist… Do your part. Audit the Federal Reserve (HR 1207)
- Thank you

Starbucks Customer Relations,
Let me start this letter by addressing the fact that I have always tried to support my local coffee shops. Although your establishment was started as a small and genuine operation; it’s sincerity has been compromised by the very corporate masters that have made so many of our lives an incessant annoyance.
I will get to the point of this letter. As I said, I have always tried to support my local coffee joints. Starbucks has made its image present from every angle; a chain with links conveniently placed next to any small coffee house in America. I do however from time to time visit my local Starbucks, because it’s convenient and the coffee is not too bad. I usually order an Americano on Ice and sip on it through out the day. Other places get it wrong from time to time. I live in Southern California and I usually hit the Starbucks on my way to work. I particularly enjoy the people that work at this location, so I don’t mind going in there from time to time…
This past Saturday there was some work being done to my house, so I grabbed the kids and decided to go to Starbucks to kill some time; buy the kiddos some Hot Chocolate and a bagel; maybe catch up on my emails, etc. After getting our beverages and bagels, I proceeded to sit down and cozy up with my laptop… After turning on my trusty computer I noticed to my surprise that I had a nice AT&T logo staring at me with its hands out, wanting my qualifying Starbucks card information or $$$… $3.99 per 2 hours to be exact.
In this day and age charging for WI-FI as an established coffee house is beyond my comprehension. What nerve! I am not a qualified Starbucks card holder, nor do I ever plan to be. I am however a paying customer who has regrettably spent more than I care to admit in your establishments over the years. Now Starbucks and AT&T have bedded each other in the latest corporate sham? Even McDonalds offers free WIFI. Many cities in this country AND most of the small Mom and Pop shops I can name offer free WIFI. How dare you charge paying customers who don’t want credit with Starbucks for WIFI. I hope you have seen a dramatic decline in profits because of this asinine decision and that you continue to do so. I will never frequent Starbucks again. I will get up 10 minutes earlier to drive a few minutes out of my way to support my local community. I will post this letter on my website in the hopes it reaches more concerned people sick of corporate giants like you taking advantage of your position in corporate the food chain; so to speak. I am a capitalist, I believe in Capitalism in every sense. What I cannot fathom is trying to profit on something that should be free for paying customers, it’s beyond ridiculous. I just can’t believe the nerve.
Signed,
Joshua Riddle

REMINDER…. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.
…. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It w ill only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds.
or go to http://www.donotcall.gov/
SO I received a call this morning on my cell phone, I had a weird feeling initially because my caller ID simply said “888″.
I answered the phone and a man on the other end said in very broken English (Middle Eastern I believe), “Hi, I’m am calling, report to you, big trouble, you call hotline, we have affidavit, you no call you be big trouble” I have done the best I can repeating this verbatim. I got into an argument with the guy as I was pissed off on many levels. One; He knew my phone number, and email. At this point I’m thinking it cannot be legitimate, but I decided to call the hotline number anyway (619) 342-0094 just to make sure; these days nobody speaks proper English when it comes to customer service, banks or anything else so I just couldn’t be sure.
I proceed to call the hotline number, again (619) 342-0094; another man answers the phone with even worse English. He asks my name, I tell him I will not give him my name or any other information. He asks me if I’m calling from 619.xxx.xxxx, I tell him it’s none of his business and proceed to grill him about the previous call and try to inquire about his name and what company he is representing. All he will tell me is that his name is Shaine? and that the company is “Legal Affidavit Services”. I am VERY suspicious at this point, but he then proceeds to confirm my social security number, my bank account number, and my email address and reconfirms my phone number. He tells me to hold, because he has to read me an “affidavit” and that I’m being sued for a default on a cash loan from US Bank. He then reads off a very legal sounding document about a defaulted loan and the fines and penalties I have incurred. He states they have sent several emails and I have not responded. He gets very aggressive as I am not cooperating and being very aggressive myself. At this point I am super pissed. I KNOW this is a scam, yet they have my info. I have received loans in the past, and though not recent there is still that fear I had initially.
He basically tells me that I can settle it now, or I will be sued and picked up by an “officer” at my home or work. I asked him if it was a police officer and he simply said “someone from my office” I told him they would get knocked out as I know at this point for sure it’s a scam.
I have called them back several times today at (619) 342-0094 to toy with them. They hang up on me every time.
I reported them to the states attorney office in CA, but unfortunately they said there is nothing they can do because it’s out of country and out of their jurisdiction. The state attorney office said they were glad I didn’t fall for it, but 3rd parties were entitled to get my personal information under the “freedom of information act” and that I should write my congressman. I decided to write my blog first. I am severely pissed about this whole episode…
Ill update this as I figure out a way to toy with these people even more.

So I keep noticing a lot of people still having trouble identifying and using the ID# to find Mobsters…
First step is going to anyones profile in mobsters, see the example below:

Once you are here go to the URL in the address bar, see example below:

This is the ID# you will find your fellow Mobsters posting for help, etc. Simply replace this number with the number of the Mobster you are trying to find. The number starts with %22… Usually.
This is by no means an in depth tutorial, but hopefully will shed some light using a few visual examples…
